Dig Out the Successful Journey of Android from Version 1.0 to KitKat 4.4

Android came up with lots of features and outstanding amendments with its each new version. Since, Android was launched, till now, there are lots of versions that have come and leveraged users with lots of amazing functionalities. Android devices manufacturers can overlay a unique user interface that clearly means that the same version of operating system might not work in a similar manner in different devices. Additionally, operating system versions are also rolled out a many times, but all the Android devices will not qualify to get all the latest updates:

An outlook on Android versions:

Version 1.0/1.1:

This is the first version of Android which got released in September 2008 on HTC G1. All Google apps and synchronization of mail, calendar, contacts and search option was included. Later, Version 1.1 was added with a capability of saving the attachments within messages.

Cupcake 1.5:

This was released in April 2009 and it also provides an incredible budget to the widgets such as search box available into an app on home screen, MPEG -4 video, virtual keyboards and Picasa uploading.

Donut:

In September 2009, the search got expanded in order to include history and bookmarks. There was camera integration and other features as well.

Éclair:

It supports Microsoft Exchange mail. Other features were SMS and MMS messages, HTML 5 support and there were more camera features as well.

Froyo:

It was launched in May 2010 and supports push notifications, Bluetooth hands free, greater screen resolutions and Wi-fi hotspot functionality.

Gingerbread:

It was introduced on Samsung Galaxy Nexus S and the support was added for enhanced copy/ paste, AAC audio, front facing camera and much more.

Honeycomb:

Honeycomb is one of the tablet-only version which works amazingly on large screens. It was touted as “3D Holographic” and toolbars were added at the top and bottom. Tabbed browsing were incorporated along with other desktop features.

Ice Cream Sandwich:

Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) combines Honeycomb and Gingerbread versions on a single platform. It added a range of new features such as resizable widgets, facial recognition unlocking, touch screen keys and much more. Android Application Development platform had also introduced highly sterling applications as well.

Jelly Bean 4.1:

Jelly bean has ability to provide information automatically throughout the day. An in-built “Project Butter” is enough capable to make Android a bit smoother and it offers the speech-to-text without any use of internet connection.

Jelly Bean 4.2:

There is a major change within this that supports multiple users on tablets, direct wireless transfer option and a panoramic photo mode. An Android Developer can recognize many more differences with its former version.

Jelly Bean 4.3:

Bluetooth Smart option was added that was highly compatible with low-power communications. There is also an improved support for different languages. Moreover, each tablet user can be restrained for store demos, parental control and other purposes.

KitKat 4.4:

KitKat 4.4 is highly expected to own performance profiles which can allow the apps to act differently like causing notification apps to turn dormant at night. The users have also expected guest modes, an in-built video chat and many more integrations.
